About The Position

The Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA) provides comprehensive joint and advanced counterintelligence training, covering CI operations, collections, investigations, functional services, and analysis. JCITA is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and upholds its standards. The academy offers various training modalities, including in-residence courses, mobile training teams, and distance/distributed learning, all featuring rigorous student assessments aligned with strict instructional design standards. The specific course aims to equip CI Agents with the capability to independently conduct Counterintelligence investigations. This involves determining if individuals are acting on behalf of Foreign Intelligence Entities or if events are related to such entities, and subsequently identifying appropriate resolution actions. Graduates will be able to devise plans that utilize all CI functions, missions, and investigative tools, and defend their application. The course comprises classroom instruction and practical exercises, often extending beyond standard 8-hour days, and requires work after hours and on weekends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience conducting, supervising, instructing, supporting and/or providing legal oversight of full-scope CI Investigations.
  • Served as a CI investigator with experience conducting the full investigative cycle.
  • Graduate from an accredited Counterintelligence Special Agent credentialing school.
  • Graduate of JCITA NSIC, ACIIC and/or the AFCITC, or an IC school equivalent.
  • BA/BS or MA/MS degree.
  • Active TS security clearance.
  • Eligible for SCI clearance with a poly or the ability to take one.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting, supervising, instructing, supporting, and/or providing legal oversight of full-scope CI Investigations.
  • Serving as a CI investigator with experience conducting the full investigative cycle.
  • Providing classroom instruction and practical exercises for Counterintelligence investigations.
  • Devising plans that leverage all CI functions, missions, and CI investigative tools and defending their utilization.
