The Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA) provides comprehensive joint and advanced counterintelligence training, covering CI operations, collections, investigations, functional services, and analysis. JCITA is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and upholds its standards. The academy offers various training modalities, including in-residence courses, mobile training teams, and distance/distributed learning, all featuring rigorous student assessments aligned with strict instructional design standards. The specific course aims to equip CI Agents with the capability to independently conduct Counterintelligence investigations. This involves determining if individuals are acting on behalf of Foreign Intelligence Entities or if events are related to such entities, and subsequently identifying appropriate resolution actions. Graduates will be able to devise plans that utilize all CI functions, missions, and investigative tools, and defend their application. The course comprises classroom instruction and practical exercises, often extending beyond standard 8-hour days, and requires work after hours and on weekends.
