About The Position

Axoft is building the most advanced infrastructure for implantable brain-machine interfaces, enabling long-term stable and ultra-high bandwidth communication with the brain. The Microfabrication Cleanroom Manager supports the scale-up of regulated manufacturing by maintaining critical microfabrication equipment, managing consumables and chemicals, and ensuring compliant cleanroom operations. You will work closely with Microfabrication, Operations, and Quality particularly the Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer to uphold QMS-aligned workflows, provide audit-ready equipment documentation, support IQ/OQ/PQ and process-control activities, and contribute operational insight that strengthens process stability and readiness for regulated production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or demonstrated expertise gained through significant industry experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, cleanroom operations, or tool ownership.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and chemical handling requirements.
  • Ability to manage operational threads with strong organization and documentation habits.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary owner for semiconductor tools (deposition, etch, lithography, and metrology).
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, calibrations, and basic troubleshooting to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Manage vendor service contracts and track maintenance activities.
  • Maintain equipment logs, spare parts inventories, and documentation required for audit-ready operation.
  • Provide Quality with equipment records, calibration data, and tool performance information supporting IQ/OQ/PQ, MSA, and process capability assessments.
  • Ensure equipment documentation meets QMS requirements and supports internal/external inspections.
  • Oversee daily operations of the cleanroom, ensuring safe and compliant workflows.
  • Manage chemical inventory, including ordering, tracking, SDS documentation, and proper storage.
  • Ensure gowning materials, PPE, wipes, and consumables are stocked and organized.
  • Handle chemical waste, sharps, and general lab waste streams in accordance with EHS requirements.
  • Support cleanroom protocols, inspections, spill preparedness, and general safety infrastructure.
  • Partner with Quality to maintain compliant documentation, environmental monitoring, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure cleanroom operations align with Axoft’s regulated QMS and support traceability and documentation control.
  • Maintain relationships with equipment vendors, facilities partners, and service providers.
  • Evaluate new vendors, tools, and service options as Axoft’s fabrication capabilities expand.
  • Coordinate with Quality to ensure new equipment or services meet qualification and documentation requirements.
  • Assist engineers with developing, optimizing, and documenting semiconductor processes.
  • Run test wafers, collect data, and support experiments aimed at improving yield, stability, and repeatability.
  • Contribute to process documentation, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide operational data for SPC, yield tracking, Cp/Cpk studies, and MSA.
  • Work with Quality to ensure process changes and experiments are documented in controlled formats and aligned with process-control strategies.
