About The Position

The Microbiology Technician performs daily environmental monitoring activities for cleanrooms, including sampling, managing media plates during testing, documenting results, and entering data for trending. The role also supports the environmental monitoring and quality systems by following established procedures, conducting routine equipment maintenance, and coordinating with QA and microbiology personnel.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and/or at least one year of related experience and/or training.
High attention to detail.
Computer literacy, including Windows, Office 365 Suites, and Microsoft Teams.
Ability to solve practical problems and handle concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as sampling theory and factor analysis.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement daily viable and non-viable environmental testing in controlled environments.
Store, test, and handle microbial test samples in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Record test results and the movement of testing samples in accordance with established procedures.
Enter data used for trend analysis.
Observe cleanroom personnel to ensure compliance with company standard operating procedures and cGMP requirements.
Work with the QA Manager, microbiologist, and other personnel to ensure quality systems and environmental monitoring programs are fully implemented.
Perform in-process inspections of media and supplies used in environmental monitoring.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on autoclaves and incubators in accordance with established procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
