About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking a Microbiology MLS/MLT I for the night shift. This position involves performing tests in microbiology, assisting with specimen processing, and maintaining laboratory instruments. The role requires adherence to employer policies, professional collaboration with colleagues, and the ability to manage workload and stress effectively. The position is located in Oklahoma City, OK, with working hours from 8:30 pm to 7:00 am, including rotating weekends and holidays. The role also requires the ability to work overtime or other shifts if needed, and to work 10-hour shifts.

Requirements

  • General laboratory knowledge, including the ability to use computers.
  • Knowledge of QA and QC.
  • AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
  • Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.
  • Teamwork with fellow employees is a must.
  • Keyboard skills are important.
  • Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude.
  • Must work overtime or other shifts if required.
  • Able to work 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
  • Frequent walking and/or standing.
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.
  • ASCP Certification (Preferred)
