About The Position

The Microbiology Associate helps ensure product quality and safety through hands-on microbiological testing and environmental monitoring. The role performs routine laboratory analyses, supports cleanroom monitoring programs, prepares samples and reagents, and maintains accurate documentation in a cGMP-regulated environment. It is suited to a detail-oriented scientist who enjoys laboratory work and wants to build technical expertise in microbiology and pharmaceutical quality operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific field.
Familiarity with microbiology laboratory techniques, equipment, and terminology.
Understanding of cGMP, ISO standards, and safe laboratory practices.
Strong troubleshooting, organization, and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
Authorization to work in the US indefinitely without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

0–1 years of laboratory experience.
Cleanroom, aseptic gowning, or environmental monitoring experience.

Responsibilities

Perform microbiological testing in accordance with established procedures and cGMP requirements.
Prepare samples, media, reagents, standards, and laboratory materials for routine testing.
Conduct environmental monitoring, including water sampling, viable and non-viable air monitoring, and surface sampling.
Perform Gram staining, microbial isolation, sterility testing, endotoxin testing, and particulate matter testing.
Analyze and interpret test results, escalating concerns or deviations as needed.
Accurately document and report laboratory data in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, and work areas while following safe laboratory practices.
Support investigations, troubleshooting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
