About The Position

The Microbiologist II handles samples, performs analyses, and reports accurate and timely data in accordance with Laboratory Operating Procedures and applicable test methodologies. The role maintains and verifies equipment, reports deficiencies or malfunctions to a supervisor, keeps records of quality activities, and identifies and records nonconformities on Corrective Action Requests.

This position works Tuesday through Saturday, from 2:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., with Sunday and Monday off. Overtime may be required as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related field, or commercial laboratory experience.
• Two years of laboratory or bench experience.
• PCR experience.
• Experience with Hygiena BAX and GENE-UP.
• Experience with ELISA testing and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Handle samples and perform analyses according to Operating Procedures and test methodologies.
• Report accurate and timely analysis data.
• Maintain and verify equipment.
• Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Maintain records of quality activities as documented in Operating Procedures and test methods.
• Identify and record nonconformities on Corrective Action Requests.
