About The Position

The Micro-Perf Machine Operator is responsible for safely producing quality perforated wood veneer and high-pressure laminate products made through our Micro-Perf Machine. Production needs include but are not limited to customer orders, inventory, product samples, and product development prototypes. This role requires a high attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work. The operator will oversee the operation of the Micro-Perf Machine, ensuring safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment. Communication with the team is essential to ensure safety, quality, and delivery expectations are met. The role also involves responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of all paperwork related to the Micro-Perf Machine.

Requirements

Enjoys running equipment and achieving the desired output.
Mechanically inclined.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and make micro-adjustments.
Ability to interact well with others in the common pursuit of working safely while producing material that meets all quality attributes and standards.
Ability to read, understand and follow Purchase Orders, Standard Work Sheets, Manufacturing Drawings, Routers and Travelers.
Must be able to start up, shut down and make machine adjustments.
Must be able to retain information and follow instructions.
Must be able to read & understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
No minimum education and/or experience required.

Nice To Haves

Some knowledge of wood products and finishing preferred.
1-3 years of past manufacturing experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED
OSHA 10-hour training

Responsibilities

Safely producing quality perforated wood veneer and high-pressure laminate products.
Meeting production needs including customer orders, inventory, product samples, and product development prototypes.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of self and all associates within the facility.
Overseeing the operation of the Micro-Perf Machine, ensuring safe work practices.
Maintaining a safe work environment.
Communicating with a team to ensure safety, quality, and delivery expectations are met.
Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all paperwork coming into and leaving from the Micro-Perf Machine.
Understanding MD’s, Set-up-sheets, Purchase Orders and Take-Off’s.
Identifying cut, match, and species of veneer.
Setting up the machine without help.
Identifying imperfections in veneer and out-of-range veneer color.
Properly greasing and maintaining the machine (Technician skill).
Replacing broken pins and identifying the reason they broke (Technician skill).
Disassembling/reassembling entire tooling (Technician skill).
Understanding machine operation and making fine-tune adjustments (Technician skill).
Scheduling sharpening and preparing tooling to be sharpened (Technician skill).
