About The Position

Performs general machine operation, including set-up equipment, processing parts, and final part inspection on various assigned equipment. This role prioritizes safety and efficiency, requiring adherence to training guidelines, policies, and procedures. The operator will be responsible for maintaining a clean workspace, identifying potential hazards, and operating various fabrication machines. Additionally, the role involves operating material handling equipment, understanding machine operation and maintenance, and ensuring the quality and quantity of assigned work. Data entry into a computer-based operating system is also a part of the responsibilities. The position offers opportunities for developing knowledge in layout procedures and complex set-ups, and requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Requirements

High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.

Responsibilities

Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority.
Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns.
Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
Operate various fabrication machines (e.g., punch press, shear, press brake).
Set up tooling as needed.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings.
Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required.
Understand machine operation, capacity, and routine maintenance.
Responsible for overall quality and quantity of assigned work.
Properly completes all routine paperwork related to the job responsibilities.
Process will involve entering data into a computer based operating system.
Work at developing knowledge of layout procedures and more complicated set-ups and tolerance adjustments.
Capable of working independently or as a team with minimum supervision.
