HDR is looking for an Industrial Market Sector Leader to provide leadership and oversight for the growth of HDR's Industrial program in Michigan. Our Industrial program in Michigan is focused on gas utilities, chemical manufacturers, agribusiness, and industrial water/wastewater, with the potential to grow in advanced manufacturing and aggregates. HDR has established offices in Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Detroit, to support our area’s growing industries. The primary duties of the Industrial Market Sector Leader include project management; top line growth through business development, meeting contractual commitments, and building client relationships; and growth of the local team and capabilities through recruiting and training. This position will work closely with local, regional, and national leaders to influence the direction of the program. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to hire and mentor staff, a demonstrated ability to grow a client base, have a strong professional network in Michigan, and a seller/doer mindset. Specific duties include: Being responsible for growing, monitoring, and leading the execution of HDR's portfolio of Industrial services in Michigan. Partnering with local and regional business development leaders to position ahead of market trends and implement strategies to diversify work and grow client relationships. Identifying and pursuing opportunities to deliver a variety of services including but not limited to design, consulting, advisory services, owners engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning. Identifying and establishing effective external teaming relationships to support program growth. This includes developing relationships with industry counterparts and representing HDR in industry associations and as a role model in business and community organizations. Providing leadership and project management to ensure projects have appropriate support and that work is executed in a quality manner. Perform client management, project management and/or technical support activities. Serve as a project manager or Principal-in-Charge for contracted projects. Coordinating closely with the Area Business Group Manager, Industrial Market Leaders, and local and Industrial Business Development Leaders to align resources and technical expertise with workload and marketing efforts to deliver for the clients. Driving client growth, locally and regionally, including recruiting and hiring staff to support and implement business development and marketing plans. Coordinating with local operations, section managers, and business group leadership to support work sharing efforts. Leading and motivating the staff to meet growth goals.
