The Aurora Central Engineering organization seeks an innovative and motivated Systems Engineering Manager 2 to manage a staff of approximately 50 Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) engineers in support of ground technology programs and pursuits. This position will report on-site daily, providing leadership across one or more programs. The position reports directly to the SEIT Department Manager in Aurora, Colorado. Previous experience with satellite payloads, ground systems or aerospace technology is strongly preferred. This position requires a solid understanding of SEIT engineering excellence, tools, and processes in a space systems context to establish solid systems engineering rigor on programs. The Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of systems engineers, owning the discipline’s methods and tools, and ensuring high-quality technical execution across multiple programs. This role balances people leadership, capability development, and collaboration with program management to deliver integrated, compliant solutions that meet customer and business needs. This manager will be called upon to support proposals; program evaluation; and other strategic initiatives. Strong leadership skills with direct staff are required, including the ability to identify and develop critical skill capabilities, support career development, evaluate and manage performance, identify and recognize achievement, and plan staffing support for programs. This manager would also be responsible for ensuring process compliance and supporting functional department initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in SEIT Lead roles, and a strong background in engineering management, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across several Operating Units.
