About The Position

As a Material Program Manager (MPM) you’re a self-starter, capable of developing and achieving program objectives in a matrix environment and able to successfully interface with functional and program leadership. In short, you’re able to lead and influence cross-functional teams without having any direct reports.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Experience in supply chain and related systems, program management, procurement, MRP, cost estimating, and/or finance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or similar
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Certified Material Program Manager to Level 3
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management, issue and conflict resolution, supplier negotiations and how to influence an acceptance in execution of cost reduction opportunities
  • Experience with Project Management, MRP Systems and or tools such as PRISM and KINAXIS

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute material program plans, subcontract management plans (as applicable)
  • Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program responsibilities & proactively manage mitigation plans
  • Completing quarterly financial management reviews using Earned Value Management through the EAC (Estimate at Complete) process
  • Balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations to create a common schedule based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Collaborate with supply chain functions for support as needed
  • Monitor performance metrics and proactively act to address program and functional issues
  • Support all gate review and activity, EAC review, program review and risk and opportunity management reviews
  • Oversight of subcontractor execution performance
  • Must obtain MPM certification level 4 within 1 year of hire.
