About The Position

The Air & Space Force Solutions (ASFS) Business Operations Manager reports directly to the VP/GM and is a member of the ASFS senior leadership team. This role directs all areas of business operations, handling both daily routine issues and planning/executing longer-term strategic operations and initiatives. The individual will actively participate in business reviews and decisions, manage reporting requirements, delegate tasks, interpret and establish ASFS operating policies, and interact with all levels of the business and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent experience in a management or engineering field.
  • Ten+ years’ related experience in business operations or program management.
  • Thorough understanding of industry best practices in the DoD technical services market.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Significant experience working with non-engineering functions and business processes (Business Development, Contracts, Pricing, Finance, Procurement).
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Post-graduate degree in related technical or in management-related discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the DoD technical services industry.
  • Experience in proposal processes and development.
  • PMP accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and enforce a unified cadence for MBRs/QBRs/MMRs, including pre-read standards, KPI thresholds, and corrective action tracking.
  • Serve as the conduit between VP/GM and ASFS Leadership Team; consolidate program status, risks, and dependencies.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting that synthesizes operational performance, cost/schedule outcomes, and improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate MBRs, QBRs, data call responses for ASFS, liaison with Functions, MMRs, monitor and track training.
  • Plan and manage ASFS facilities, including rationalization, improvements, and new requirements.
  • Lead cost estimation, allocation, tracking, and variance analysis across a portfolio of programs.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive forecasts, including sensitivity analysis, to senior leadership and customers.
  • Direct facility rationalization and growth planning across sites; develop business cases for improvements and new requirements.
  • Oversee proactive safety initiatives aligned with corporate standards; track leading indicators to reduce risk.
  • Lead internal/external audits end-to-end—scoping, readiness, execution, and remediation.
  • Establish and enforce incident management, change management, and release governance standards.
  • Monitor, report, and improve employee training across safety, compliance, and technical domains.
  • Promote a high-performance culture through transparent metrics, root-cause analysis, and shared lessons learned.
  • Manage sponsorships and community investment planning aligned to ASFS priorities.
  • Lead complex integration efforts (org design, process harmonization, systems consolidation) and realignment initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives that use predictive models to flag capacity constraints, defect trends, and incident precursors.
  • Set capacity, staffing, and tooling strategies for peak-load scenarios; validate readiness through simulations and after-action reviews.
  • Develop and track key operational metrics (availability, incident response, MTTR, throughput, customer impact, cost/schedule performance); publish role-based dashboards.
  • Perform recurring variance analyses across cost, schedule, and quality; drive root-cause containment and monitor corrective actions.
