About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for managing all areas of business related to Environmental, Health and Safety to achieve Kamtek’s goals and objectives, as well as, implementing plans to establish and maintain compliance with legislation and Magna standards. This position is also responsible for the implementation and maintenance of key management systems that meet all customer, MAFACT and all internal audit requirements, such as IATF 16949, and ISO 14001.

  • Knowledgeable of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and OSHA regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet departmental and team needs.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and sensitivity to confidential information.
  • Ability to perform problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to train others in environmental, occupational health and safety topics.
  • Ability to create training plans.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
  • Understand and promote Magna’s philosophies (Magna Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution and Employee’s Charter).
  • Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs (i.e. Magna, OSHA, ADEM, EPA).
  • Responsible for the definition and deployment of Kamtek’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance and continual improvement in all areas of the programs.
  • Champion planned and unplanned audits and inspections at Kamtek.
  • Coordinate responses of requests from regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, ADEM, EPA) for information and/or visits.
  • Identify and address opportunities to minimize the financial impacts of Workers’ Compensation.
  • Maintain Actionlinx plans for EHS and meet deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain programs that comply with Environmental regulations, including recordkeeping, reporting and permitting.
  • Assess internal and external risks and work in partnership with plant leadership to implement strategies, policies and programs to reduce identified risks.
  • Environmental Management Representative for ISO 14001 and IATF 16949.
  • Promotes good housekeeping (5S)
  • Perform other duties as required.
