About The Position

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will manage the systems and processes for the creation of annual budget plans, monthly financial forecasts and three-year mid-term plans in accordance with YAI executive management and YEC corporate planning requirements. Provide strategic financial analysis and information for achieving the financial goals of the organization. Recommends opportunities to improve company value.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Accounting or Financial Planning.
  • PC proficient using MS Office products or equivalent.
  • Experience with integrated business or enterprise planning software (ideally SAP and/or BPC).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability including the ability to understand complex business/market issues and trends.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and YAI accounting policies and procedures.

  • MBA preferred
  • Supervisory experience and skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial planning functions of Yaskawa America, Inc and Yaskawa Canada.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement the Company’s planning function including the annual budget, monthly forecast and three-year mid-term plan in conjunction with YEC planning requirements.
  • Provide periodic updates to measure actual performance against plan goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial forecast. Evaluate divisional financial results and plans (actuals, margins, investments, forecasts, budgets, strategies, etc.) and provide explanations of activity, business issues, and recommendations for financial improvement.
  • Review financial results of wholly-owned subsidiaries, including budgets, actual results to budget and forecasts. Coordinate monthly conference calls to review results with appropriate management and Finance personnel.
  • Manage the sales and margin reporting function in Finance for decision-making purposes and support achieving divisional sales and marketing goals and improvements.
  • Evaluate YAI sales incentive results against annual plans working with Sales Management to insure all calculations are accurate and in accordance with approved plans. Prepare semi-annual CAA for management review and approval.
  • Provide guidance, direction and resources for the planning, design, development and implementation of Business Planning and Consolidation system in conjunction with management’s goals and objectives. Streamline Company planning processes to increase efficiency and insure proper coordination with wholly-owned subsidiaries.
  • Foster and promote professional development of direct reports.
  • Evaluate the return on capital spending projects and investment in personnel. Perform due diligence and scenario evaluations as necessary associated with business development efforts.
