The Engineering Manager 2 position is for the VCS Reactor I&C Systems group within Department E86. This role supervises a team responsible for the installation and maintenance of Reactor I&C Systems equipment and associated shipboard cabling on VCS Class submarines. The manager ensures all Reactor I&C equipment is installed according to standards, specifications, procedures, and methods, and addresses risks related to obsolescence. Responsibilities include reviewing and issuing TWDs for Reactor I&C, including SCNIs, SCNPs, ERs, and Trouble Records. The manager will communicate with various stakeholders such as LDY (EB), Reactor Plant Contractors Office (RPCO), Nuclear Quality Control (NQC), Nuclear Test Engineering (E84), and Naval Reactors Resident Office (NRRO). They will also interact with and support multiple trades personnel, providing continuous deck plate technical support for Reactor I&C electrical issues during construction and testing. This involves fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external customers, optimizing engineering processes, and assisting with engineering evaluation or analysis. The manager will attend daily waterfront meetings (Agenda, IWL, WR90, PODs) and support upper management meetings, including RPCO meetings, NAVSEA Audits, and senior staff meetings.
