This Engineering Manager 2 position is intended for the VCS Reactor I&C Systems group within Department E86, responsible for supervising a team that focuses on the installation and maintenance of the Reactor I&C Systems equipment and all associated shipboard cabling, on VCS Class subs. Specifically, the manager will be responsible for ensuring that all Reactor I&C equipment is installed in accordance with all installation standards, specifications, procedures, and methods as well as addressing risks associated with obsolescence issues. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for the review and issuance of all TWDs for Reactor I&C including SCNIs, SCNPs, ERs, and Trouble Records. Beyond the technical aspect of this position, the manager will be required to communicate regularly with the LDY (EB), the Reactor Plant Contractors Office (RPCO), Nuclear Quality Control (NQC), Nuclear Test Engineering (E84), and Naval Reactors Resident Office (NRRO). The manager will also interact and support multiple trades personnel, ensuring the group provides continuous deck plate technical support across all Reactor I&C electrical issues during the construction and testing. This will be accomplished by establishing and maintaining a strong collaborative relationship between the group and all internal/external customers, while optimizing the engineering processes and assisting with engineering evaluation or analysis. Lastly, the manager will attend various daily waterfront meetings to include Agenda, IWL, WR90, and PODs as well as support requests for various upper management meetings to include RPCO meetings, NAVSEA Audits, and senior staff meetings.
