About The Position

This position is responsible for managing both Local and Linehaul dispatching activities, which include routing, scheduling, and dispatching drivers, equipment, and freight loads, as well as reporting on these activities. This encompasses oversight of company drivers, owner-operators, and third-party carriers.

Process and procedure optimization for resource use, service improvement, and cost reduction
Compliance with DOT regulations, company policy, and local, state, and federal laws
Maximizing equipment and driver utilization
Collaboration with Human Resources and Regulatory Compliance for driver records and training
Coordination with Repair and Maintenance for equipment upkeep
Daily planning with Terminal Managers for staffing, freight, and equipment movement
Collaboration with Account Executives
Assistance with Human Resources recruitment and retention efforts

Responsibilities

Operate safety and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures, promptly reporting and investigating all accidents, incidents, and injuries in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations.
Identify, plan, design, and implement processes and procedures to optimize resource use, improve services, and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policy, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Manage both Local and Linehaul dispatch operations, overseeing routing, scheduling, and dispatching of drivers, equipment, and freight loads, while ensuring efficient operations and timely reporting of activities.
Maximize equipment and driver utilization to create efficiencies between terminals.
Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Regulatory Compliance to maintain driver records and training.
Coordinate with Repair and Maintenance to ensure equipment is properly maintained and available for use.
Work with Terminal Managers daily to plan staffing, freight, and equipment movement.
Collaborate with Account Executives as necessary.
Assist Human Resources in recruitment and retention efforts.
