About The Position

Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) is seeking an additional process-driven leader to provide day-to-day operational oversight of the NNS Onboarding team. This team is responsible for all administrative functions required in the talent acquisition process, including interview scheduling, pre-employment screenings, creation of personnel files, travel and reimbursement processing, verifications, and maintaining candidate contact throughout the process. This key position will lead and assign work to staff by leveraging employee skill sets, establishing work team goals, and evaluating employee performance. Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with candidates and HR leadership. This is a fast-paced environment where maintaining a high level of customer service, driving accountability, engagement, and business results will be the standard. You will work closely with management to support hiring plans and strategize ways to improve processes throughout the candidate onboarding experience. Recommends, interprets, and/or implements company and internal administrative policies and procedures. Performs as a generalist a combination of administrative tasks in such functional areas as finance, human resources, purchasing, research and development. May prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; OR Master's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience.
