About The Position

The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program in the School of Education at the University of San Francisco is seeking adjunct instructors to teach specific courses for the Spring Semester. The MFT Program offers a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, preparing graduates for licensure and professional clinical counseling. Requirements

Master’s Degree in MFT, Ph.D./Psy.D, in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required.
Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in the specific content area of the course.
Ability to integrate issues of diversity, equity, and advocacy in teaching.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned MFT courses, integrating issues of diversity, equity, and advocacy.
Provide students with an overview of specific subject areas (e.g., child and adolescent development, community mental health, psychopharmacology, sexuality and gender issues, adult development and geropsychology, substance abuse and addictions counseling).
Develop students' knowledge and skills in counseling, assessment, and intervention appropriate to the course content.
Incorporate developmentally, ethnically, legally, and gender-appropriate strategies.
Analyze, synthesize, and apply relevant theories to the practice of counseling.
Facilitate hands-on experiences and community immersion where applicable.
Critically analyze the role of power and privilege in relevant subject areas.
Assess students' learning and provide feedback.
