About The Position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a skilled Industrial maintenance technician to oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment. As an industrial maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. To ensure success as an industrial maintenance technician, you should have advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good time-management skills. Ultimately, a top-class industrial maintenance technician boosts production by ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance.

Requirements

  • Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
  • Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions
  • Can demonstrate strong attention to safety and ability to follow detailed procedures
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques
  • Experience in computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience with manufacturing systems such as Tulip, Oracle, or MES preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen.
  • Performing a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.
  • Installing new equipment and understanding technical manuals, reading blueprints and how to purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs.
  • Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
  • Disassembling/reassembling equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc. and repairing/replacing worn or defective parts.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Troubleshooting PLC systems and other control systems and installing wiring systems for power and control.
  • Troubleshooting, installing and repairing AC/DC motors, starters, relays and drives.
  • Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing all standard electrical components and detecting minor equipment problems and correcting them before they become major issues.
  • Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
  • Performing preventive maintenance per planned schedules.
  • Cleaning and lubricating machinery.
  • Inspecting equipment operating conditions.
  • Identifying root causes of equipment problems.
  • Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Helping develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
  • Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
