About The Position

A study of the politics and government of Mexico focusing on the political system in the context of history and culture. The course examines how colonial patterns influence current challenges like democracy building, poverty and inequality, gender issues, and security. The study of Mexico’s relations with the United States with respect to security, borders, and trade will also be discussed.

  • PhD in Political Science or Global Governance.
  • Previous experience teaching the subject is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Mexican Politics (PO311H/NO309L) during the Fall 2026 term.
  • Deliver lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 PM to 3:50 PM.
  • Engage with an anticipated class size of 50 students.
  • Assess students using criteria outlined in the collective agreement and program-specific rubric.
