About The Position

The Metrology Technician will measure physical parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and CAD models, analyze measurement data to ensure accuracy, and troubleshoot measurement discrepancies. This role involves generating reports and documentation of results, measuring, collecting, and analyzing data to support continuous improvement activities. The technician will also perform calibration, adjustment, and maintenance of measurement instruments and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other metrological equipment. Additionally, they will perform basic calibrations and verifications of production equipment, coordinate outsourced calibrations, and support product launches, Enterprise Change activities, and manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficient use of a FARO Arm CMM with Polyworks
  • Proficient knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Proficient in using various measurement tools and equipment, including digital calipers, micrometers, and CMMs
  • Able and willing to actively pursue certification or is an active certificate holder in American Society of Quality’s (ASQ) Professional Development program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements and maintaining equipment.
  • Active Listening – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate
  • Reading Comprehension – understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Able to interact with all types of people in a professional and respectful manner
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis on an as needed basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Metrology, Engineering, Quality or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Quality and Manufacturing experience helpful

  • Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness
