About The Position

Our site in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Metrology Technician to join our Quality team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain metrology and inspection equipment to ensure product and process conformity. You will follow established procedures, perform routine and moderately complex measurements, document results accurately, and communicate findings to engineers and cross‑functional partners. In addition, you will help identify issues, support root‑cause investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. A Metrology Technician plays a critical part in ensuring consistent product quality and supporting reliable manufacturing performance in alignment with company standards and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical training or an associate degree in a STEM, manufacturing, or metrology‑related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
  • Experience using metrology and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, optical inspection equipment, gauges, or measurement fixtures
  • Ability to follow established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with basic problem‑solving techniques and ability to provide reliable measurement data
  • Comfortable performing routine and moderately complex inspections with minimal daily instruction
  • Strong capability to record, organize, and communicate inspection results clearly to engineers and production teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to safety, product quality, and adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and metrology techniques to support continuous improvement efforts

Responsibilities

  • Perform precise measurements and inspections using metrology tools and equipment to ensure products meet specifications and quality requirements
  • Set up, operate, and maintain measurement instruments in accordance with established procedures and safety standards
  • Document inspection results accurately and communicate findings to engineers and production teams
  • Support troubleshooting activities by identifying measurement issues and assisting in root‑cause investigations
  • Follow defined work instructions, quality protocols, and calibration standards to maintain measurement accuracy and repeatability
  • Assist engineers with data collection, sampling, and technical tasks during process or product evaluations
  • Monitor equipment performance, perform routine maintenance, and report calibration or functionality concerns
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve inspection methods or workflow efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support timely resolution of nonconforming product or process deviations
