Metrology Engineer

Amro Fabricating CorporationWilsonville, OR
$85,000 - $110,000Onsite

About The Position

We're looking for a Metrology Engineer who thinks beyond the measurement, someone who engineers quality into the process not just inspects for it after the fact. This is not a traditional CMM programmer seat. You'll own the development of robust, operator-executable CMM programs and measurement systems that reduce reliance on any single individual and drive risk, variation, and waste out of the process. You’ll work alongside the Quality Department serving as a key technical resource for CMM troubleshooting, training, and continuous improvement. The expectation is that the programs and systems you build empower the inspection team to execute independently at a high level.

Requirements

  • Experience programming and operating CMMs in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Solid working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and its practical application in part inspection
  • Demonstrated ability to develop systems, programs, and documentation that enables operator independence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Working knowledge of other metrology equipment for validation and oversight (optical comparators, hand tools, surface plate methods)
  • Familiarity with MSA, SPC, and measurement uncertainty concepts
  • Effective communicator across technical and non-technical audiences

Nice To Haves

  • MCOSMOS experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in aerospace or another regulated manufacturing industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, metrology, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered
