About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Metrology Customer Service Center Lead to join their Metrology team. This role involves leading and working with a team of logistics professionals to expedite the movement of Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) through the calibration process. The goal is to ensure factories can deliver product on time and to the highest quality standards. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree plus 5+ years of experience in logistics
  • Experience using Calibration recall Database’s such as MetTeam
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Possess interpersonal skills involving coordinating with customers and suppliers
  • Be able to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Receives Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) from users and coordinates the movement through the calibration process.
  • Follows user guides and requests to status and sticker M&TE.
  • Picks-up and delivers M&TE using various lifting tools, carts, and vehicles (passenger van). Lifting of equipment upwards of 50 lbs.
  • Provides logistics support that will facilitate the timely movement of M&TE to and from Customer Service Centers (CSC) and to the service facility.
  • Keeps customers informed of M&TE status information through Recall database and other media.
  • Answers customer questions and concerns regarding M&TE calibration status.
  • Coordinates vendor onsite calibration.
  • Contacts vendors and coordinates the outsourcing of vendor calibrated equipment.
  • Processes and route New M&TE to the point of use.
  • Works with Asset Management and Gov/Prop Management to facilitate the disposition, tagging, deployment, storage, and redeployment of M&TE.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with supervisors and engineers so that calibration compliance can be satisfied.
  • Assists in preparing purchase order requisitions and track requests from initiation through delivery.
  • Maintains various files for calibration compliance, cost data, calibration recall programs, etc.
  • Notifies supervisor of any difficulties or delays, which may affect schedules.
  • Follows up with vendors to obtain status of equipment and expedite as required.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of all activities related to the Metrology Customer Service Center.
  • Ensures personnel assigned to CSC's have the necessary training, expertise, and experience to perform their duties.
  • Manages a wide variety of complex operations of the Metrology logistics function.
  • Able to develop, procedures, policies, and tasks associated with all Metrology logistics functions.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
