About The Position

The Metrology/Automated Material Handling (AMHS) Equipment Engineer is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and improving state-of-the-art 200mm semiconductor equipment. This role acts as a tool owner, tasked with resolving the most complex errors and tool failures, performing and instructing others in preventive maintenance, and reviewing Statistical Process Control charts for process quality, including defect troubleshooting. The engineer will identify and implement improvements to optimize tool safety, quality, availability, throughput, and cost of parts and service, communicating these enhancements to the team. Additionally, the position involves supporting the startup and installation of new equipment and ensuring a safe working environment around the tools. NXP Semiconductors N.V. Requirements

  • More than 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering or Physics
  • More than 2 years of Preventative & Corrective Maintenance or Equipment Engineering expertise in defect and/or parametric metrology systems such as PUMA, SP1, CDSEM, film thickness
  • Able to train, mentor, and coach junior engineers and maintenance technicians
  • Ability to understand organization’s quality requirement process and be responsible for customer satisfaction while working in a competitive team and adhering customer build/test instructions
  • Experience in troubleshooting electromechanical optical systems and read schematic diagrams
  • Root cause troubleshooting experience and expertise

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control, and improve state of the art 200mm semiconductor equipment
  • Solve the most difficult errors and tool failures as a Tool owner
  • Perform, and teach others how to perform, preventive maintenance activities
  • Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to out of control conditions including defect troubleshooting
  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool safety, quality, availability, throughput, and cost or parts and service
  • Clearly communicate those improvements to the team
  • Support startup and install of new equipment
  • Responsibility for the safe working environment in and around the tools
