About The Position

Fugro USA Marine, Inc. is seeking a Metocean Consultancy Manager to oversee the Consultancy division. This role involves managing technical and commercial projects in oceanographic consulting, focusing on high-quality data analysis, client satisfaction, and business growth. The manager will be responsible for delivering expert solutions, driving innovation, and developing new business opportunities within the metocean sector, thereby supporting the organization's reputation and success. Key responsibilities include planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating, motivating, delegating, and communicating to effectively balance project cost, time, quality, benefit, and risk. This includes managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, identifying resource needs, ensuring proper resourcing of personnel and equipment, and coordinating with the Operations Manager for team assignments. The role also involves developing and managing project documentation, conducting startup activities, providing project metrics reporting, briefing project teams, attending vessel mobilizations, and coordinating daily with project field teams. Managing third-party contributions, administering contracts, and managing risks and opportunities are also crucial. The position may require contributions to tenders and contract negotiations, and overseeing project close-out, including client review meetings and final settlements. The manager will also perform other assigned duties or special projects, communicate with clients and internal stakeholders, maintain client relationships, and identify opportunities and risks. Consulting with internal experts to implement best practices, reviewing and approving project deliverables, and obtaining client acceptance are essential. The role requires monitoring project budgets, schedules, and performance against KPIs, providing financial information for commercial reports, preparing financial forecasts, and controlling project budgets and schedules with corrective actions as needed. Ensuring proper financial tracking and invoicing is also a key duty. Furthermore, the manager will provide coaching, mentoring, and development for assigned reports, and provide feedback to management and HR on personnel issues. Ensuring compliance with company standards, industry standards, QHSSE policy, and local regulations is paramount.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Oceanography.
  • 4 years of relevant metocean experience in all aspects of physical oceanographic and numeric modeling project management.
  • Experience working with contractual requirements, timescales and budgets.

  • Develop/manage project documentation, including execution plans.
  • Conduct project startup activities, including briefings and kick-off meetings.
  • Provide accurate and timely project metrics reporting.
  • Brief project teams and attend vessel mobilizations as needed.
  • Coordinate with project field teams daily.
  • Manage third-party contributions to projects.
  • Administer contracts and manage risk and opportunities.
  • Contribute to tenders and contract negotiations if required.
