About The Position

This is a 16-month internship with a June, 2026 start date. We are offering an early-career opportunity for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing within our Methods Engineering team. This role is for final-year students or recent graduates from engineering or engineering technology programs who are eager to apply their technical skills in a real-world production environment. As a Methods Engineering Trainee, you will contribute directly to the planning and development for manufactured components for the DHC-515 Waterbomber Aircraft.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a recognized program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical documentation and engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and interest in manufacturing processes and production systems
  • Enthusiasm for problem-solving, hands-on technical work, and learning in a team environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada for the full duration of the placement

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to or interest in ERP systems, manufacturing planning, or quality systems is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and revision of manufacturing work instructions, including defining build sequences, materials, tooling, and process requirements
  • Support the creation of Assembly Workbooks and visual aids, using 2D and 3D CAD tools where needed to develop clear manufacturing and installation instructions
  • Contribute to the preparation of production planning data within ERP systems and support documentation updates aligned with QMS requirements
  • Participate in Methods Readiness activities to support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up
  • Support the identification and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids for assembly processes
  • Participate in the review and improvement of production processes in collaboration with engineering, quality, and operations teams
  • Assist in investigating production issues and non-conformances, including supporting root cause analysis activities
  • Engage in hands-on tasks related to tooling, assembly flow, or process troubleshooting on the shop floor
  • Contribute to engineering change support, technical documentation updates, and production readiness activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Methods, Production, Quality, Liaison, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to support manufacturing activities and gain exposure to end-to-end aircraft production
