About The Position

The City of Springfield is seeking applicants for a Methods and Procedures Analyst position within the Springfield Police Department. This role involves researching, developing, evaluating, and revising communication policies and procedures, disseminating and interpreting policies for SCCDS, conducting audits of cellular usage, and conferring with department heads on policy and operating needs. The analyst will also co-administer telephone and voicemail systems, assist with troubleshooting, and maintain various databases and inventory records. Additionally, the position requires compiling statistical reports and maintaining records and correspondence.

Requirements

  • Knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college.
  • Two years of related administrative experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in emergency communications is highly preferred.
  • Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents.
  • Current City employees must have completed their probationary period and attained certified status in their current position.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, evaluate, and revise communication policies and procedures.
  • Disseminate and interpret application of Police and Fire Department policy and procedure to SCCDS.
  • Conduct audits and prepare reports of individual cellular usage.
  • Confer with Police and Fire department division heads regarding department policy and operating needs.
  • Co-administer telephone and voicemail systems in the Municipal Center complex.
  • Assist in troubleshooting phone and voicemail problems.
  • Maintain database of City-wide cellular inventory, Police department inventory, office and desk key assignments, and Police and Fire department pager inventory.
  • Compile statistical reports, maintain various records, reports, and correspondence.
