About The Position

FTAI Aviation’s Component Repair Business Unit (CRBU) is expanding its machining capabilities and seeks a highly skilled Methods Agent with expertise in CNC programming, fixture design, and machining methods. In this role, you will drive continuous improvement in our machining processes, focusing on efficiency, quality, and innovation. Your primary focus will be on developing and optimizing CNC programming, workholding solutions, and cutting tool strategies to support production excellence.

Requirements

  • College diploma or technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Methods Agent, CNC Programmer, or Manufacturing Engineer in an aerospace, automotive, or precision machining environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (experience with software such as Mastercam, Surfcam or Siemens NX is preferred).
  • Solid understanding of fixture design, workholding solutions, and machining techniques.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for fixture and tooling design.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, especially Quantum, and strong competency in MS Office.
  • Bilingual in French and English, with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or experience with continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop CNC programs for various machining operations, including milling, turning, and grinding, to enhance productivity and precision in component repair.
  • Create and optimize fixturing solutions to ensure part stability, minimize setup times, and enhance safety and efficiency in machining operations.
  • Work closely with machinists, production supervisors, and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues and to implement improvements.
  • Develop process instructions, setup sheets, and tool lists, ensuring that they are clear, accurate, and accessible to machining personnel.
  • Conduct time studies, analyze cycle times, and evaluate machining methods to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes by developing machining sequences, selecting appropriate tooling, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize machining workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall production efficiency.
  • Lead Kaizen events and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and quality in the machining department.
