This position is responsible for setting and removing meters, disconnecting meters for nonpayment, and collecting delinquent accounts. The role also involves assisting line crews in the field with tasks such as flagging, pulling wire, and ground work. Additionally, the Meter Technician will perform light maintenance of buildings and grounds, and work in the warehouse. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with customer service experience and experience working in an outdoor environment. Experience in handling delinquent accounts, dealing with the public for a utility, and operating a forklift is helpful. Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Lewis County service area or within the MLEC service territory and within 30 minutes of the Lewis County office. A Class A CDL is required or must be obtained within six months of hire. MLEC offers a community service-oriented environment with competitive wages and an excellent benefits package.
