Accurately reads and records meter consumption, processes disconnection of service for non-payments, and collects overdue payments. Follows appropriate steps in turning on/off of gas service, performs periodic Class I and II meter changes, and checks performing fuel line pressure tests, pipe Class I and II meter sets and tie-in customer fuel lines. Checks customer equipment for code compliance, safe operation and installation. Is knowledgeable and understanding of customer needs, concerns and expectations. Investigates leak complaints and makes the situation safe or takes appropriate action to make the situation safe. Properly uses and maintains gas detection equipment. Ensures all orders are completed legibly, fully and accurately. Investigates high and low bill complaints. Is knowledgeable of, supports, promotes and participates in the company's CHOICE Program. Delivers personal contact notification during winter months. Installs remote read devices on meters. Understands PSC policies on termination of service and theft of service. Recognizes potential hazardous situations. Checks for proper meter and regulator function. Demonstrates knowledge of NFPA 54 code, state and local codes and regulations. Maintains company vehicle, tools and equipment.
