About The Position

In this hands-on, outdoor position, you'll collect and verify water meter data, complete field work orders, and help ensure accurate customer billing and system reliability. Read, verify, and record water meter data for monthly billing, manual reads, and radio-read system accuracy
Complete field work orders, including meter locates, turn-ons/turn-offs, field investigations, and customer notifications
Inspect, maintain, and repair meter boxes, registers, transmitters, and related equipment to ensure accurate readings and reliable service
Provide excellent customer service by responding to field inquiries, reporting discrepancies, and communicating high usage, leaks, and delinquency notices
Maintain accurate daily records, vehicle readiness, and communicate operational updates and issues to supervisors

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent - OR- the ability to obtain a GED within six (6) months from the time of hire
• One year of experience in applicable trade encompassed by the position
• A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire
• Must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
• Subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years

Nice To Haves

• Utility or plumbing field experience preferred with working knowledge of water and/or sewer piping and water meters.
