About The Position

The Meter Inspector, Contracted Services will primarily inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with meter installation procedures, Division specifications, contract documents and local/national codes for electric, gas or water metering and associated equipment. This job is parallel to the Inspector Contracted Services job classification assigned throughout the Construction and Maintenance Division.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contracted work to ensure compliance with meter installation procedures, Division specifications, contract documents and local/national codes for electric, gas or water metering and associated equipment.
• Inspect facilities location, street repair, outdoor lighting, Electric Distribution, Gas Distribution, and/or Water Distribution.
• Read/inspect large commercial/industrial meters for billing and survey purposes.
• Change cartridges from recording demand meters and enter metering data in appropriate places.
• Set and/or correct meter clock when necessary/make notation of actual time and recorder time as required.
• Perform other job duties as required.
