Meter Billing Specialist
About The Position
As the Meter Billing Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our meter billing operations. You will proactively drive on-time billing rates by cultivating strong relationships with customers, contract administration and internal IT partners. Your responsibilities will include meticulously reviewing customer usage data from diagnostic laboratories to verify completeness, expertly addressing customer billing inquiries (and escalating complex issues for swift resolution), and performing comprehensive billing reconciliation to guarantee precise invoices across all supported systems. This position reports to the Supervisor of Meter Billing and is part of the Meter Billing Team located in Brea, CA and will be an onsite role.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED
- At least two years of experience in customer service, billing, operations or a related business environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – particularly in Excel (pivot tables, filters, formats, etc.)
- Demonstrated abilities in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Nice To Haves
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
- ERP experience (ORACLE or a similar size ERP system, i.e., SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
- Experience with contracts, revenue operations, billing, order management, customer support or data analysis
Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and input meter reading data from various sources.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies, anomalies, or errors in meter readings and billing data.
- Resolve issues by working with field service, cross-functional customer service teams, and IT partners.
- Generate and process on time customer invoices based on validated meter data.
- Process billing adjustments and credits as needed, ensuring proper documentation.
- Ensure all billing practices comply with company policies and contract terms.
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries related to meter readings, billing statements, and usage discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes, improve accuracy, and enhance efficiency.
