About The Position

We are currently seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team of highly qualified professionals that share our vision of Empowering Children to Conquer their World! This role provides customer service and is responsible for all billing aspects associated with Pediatrics Plus insurance billing including Medicaid billing, insurance billing, private pay billing, and insurance accounts receivable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting, required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer skills which include a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
  • Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and bill insurance claims.
  • Handle medical record requests from insurance companies.
  • Reconcile payments received to payments posted in system.
  • Provide excellent customer service over the phone to families and team members.
  • Explain insurance billing scenarios to families and team members.
  • Problem solve any inconsistencies with insurance billing.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Process and reconcile insurance paper checks weekly.
  • Call insurance companies to obtain/maintain pre-certification for patient therapies.
  • Enter and update data within deTASO.
  • Participate in one-on-one meetings with leader.
  • Respond positively to feedback concerning job performance.
  • Communicate any needs or concerns with administration.
  • Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy to HIPAA standards.
  • Uphold and incorporate the core values, mission, and philosophy of Pediatrics Plus into all job responsibilities.
  • Display an understanding of the leadership and management style of Pediatrics Plus.
