About The Position

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking a recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating Metallurgist for their Pogo operation in Alaska. This 2-year Graduate Metallurgist Program offers the opportunity to apply acquired education in a gold processing environment, learn from experienced professionals, and gain exposure to grinding, gravity concentration, flotation, leaching, and filtering unit operations. The program includes rotations with operations, maintenance, and mining departments to provide a comprehensive understanding of mine site operations. Successful graduates will be well-positioned for career paths as technical experts within Northern Star and the wider mining industry.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in Metallurgy/Materials or Chemistry from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Computer literacy – Microsoft Office Suite.
Extensive Excel skills (must be demonstrated).
Excellent data analysis skills.
Current Driver’s License.
Ability to pass a background check and post offer physical.
Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills.
Must be able to pass a post-offer physical and drug test, as well as a criminal history and background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in a mill, mine or other industrial setting is well regarded.
