About The Position

Arconic is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer to support its Plate Department in Davenport, Iowa. The role provides support and leadership for manufacturing processes and products, addresses quality issues in the area of responsibility, and evaluates and develops products, processes, and equipment based on customer requirements. The engineer works with support staff, shift leaders, and hourly employees. Because the facility operates 24/7, off-shift hours and/or weekend work may be required to support operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
At least 1 year of related experience or an internship equivalent.
Must meet U.S. person status requirements under ITAR.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified at hire.
Visa sponsorship is not available.
Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required government authorizations for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice To Haves

At least 4 years of metallurgical experience.
Quality system experience, such as IATF16949 or AS9100.
Lean manufacturing experience.
Experience with statistical methods, engineering calculations, physical metallurgy, mechanical metallurgy, phase diagrams, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, metals solidification theory, thermodynamics, and material processing.
Experience in the metals or aluminum industry.
