About The Position

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Metallurgical Engineer to join our team in Mossville, IL. This role provides metallurgical support across multiple client engagements, performing failure and metallurgical analysis, interacting with metallurgical technicians, updating standard work, and participating in continuous improvement projects. This is an onsite position based in Mossville, IL, working in a roughly 50/50 split between shop/lab and office environments. The work environment is approximately 50% shop/lab and 50% office. Manager and team lead, along with senior staff, provide support and mentorship to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• BS or MS in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science Engineering from an accredited university
• Failure analysis
• Ferrous metallurgy
• Microscopy
• Strong written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving ability

Responsibilities

• Perform failure and metallurgical analysis
• Interact with metallurgical technicians
• Update standard work
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Receive client request and document as-received condition
• Enter work order and work with technicians to complete the work
• Create a report with appropriate conclusions
• Validate findings with senior staff
