Requirements

Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering or related field and familiarity with Mechanical Engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
The ability to travel as-needed
Presently legally authorized to work in the US, no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of mechanical testing, corrosion science, aviation/aerospace, power generation, turbines, and failure analysis is desired

Responsibilities

Conducting hands-on and desktop-based failure analyses
Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory tests
Conducting field inspections
Reviewing and interpreting technical documentation
Communicating effectively with other engineers and technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff
Generating written work product (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, long-form written technical reports)
Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff
Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
