About The Position

The Metallurgical Engineer’s role includes, but is not limited to, developing practices to improve safety, quality, efficiency, yield, productivity, and costs. Develop and optimize process and product development, lead quality improvement efforts, utilize statistical tools to direct continuous improvement activities, work closely with operation and provide training to operating personnel, and provide metallurgical assistance to technical service representatives and customers. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Metallurgy, Material Science Engineering, or similar technical field.

  • Prior experience with steel production and processing.
