A Metallographer Level I assists in the preparation and evaluation of metallic specimens used for quality control, materials characterization, and failure investigation. Working from established procedures and under the direction of senior metallography or MESP staff, this role performs routine tasks such as cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, etching samples, and conducts basic microstructural examinations and hardness tests. The Metallographer Level I accurately records data, organizes images and test results, and helps maintain laboratory equipment, contributing to consistent, high-quality metallurgical analysis in a production or laboratory environment.
