About The Position

The Metal Shop Technician - Welder will fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using various welding techniques and tools. The ideal candidate should have experience reading blueprints, operating welding equipment, and maintaining safety standards in the workplace. Schedules Available: Mon–Thurs 4×10 schedule or Tues–Fri 4×10 schedule

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a welder or similar role.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Follow verbal directions to meet production schedule.
• Ability to use ruler, scale, tape measure, calipers
• Possess basic tools including gear wrenches, impact gun, torque wrenches, metric & standard sockets.
• High dedication to quality of results to avoid rework.
• Ability to work under pressure/ time constraints.
• Able to work with minimal direction and achieve objectives.
• Minimum 2 years in general welding and metal working or associated field.
• Experience in the use of hand tools and hand power tools
• Valid driver’s license (for service-related positions).
• Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements.
• Operate MIG and TIG welders.
• Cut, shape, and join metal parts using hand and power tools.
• Inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Repair metal components and equipment as needed.
• Follow all workplace safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time.
