About The Position

Taylor Metal Products is a leading manufacturer of high-end steel roofing and siding products with over 30 years of business experience. We are seeking a detail-oriented Metal Roofing Estimator to join our team. This role involves using AppliCad Roof Wizard Software to convert complex architectural drawings and site data into accurate 3D roof models. The primary responsibilities include generating precise material and flashing lists to prepare high-quality customer estimates, ensuring accuracy and minimizing waste.

Requirements

Knowledge of the commercial and steel building construction.
Ability to read structural construction drawings a plus.
Great analytical skills and attention to detail.
Competency in the use of Excel, Word, and other software applications.
Critical thinking skills and ability to perform self-directed work.
Strong math skills including trigonometry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A positive attitude with an understanding of the value of teamwork and outstanding customer service.
Must pass a background check and drug screening for safety-sensitive positions.

Responsibilities

Utilize AppliCad Roof Wizard to create detailed 3D roof models from PDF blueprints, DWG files, or aerial images.
Conduct precise material takeoffs for metal panels, accessories, and underlayment to reduce waste and ensure accuracy.
Simulate the installation process in the software to generate accurate panel cutting lists and optimize material usage.
Coordinate with sales teams, project managers, and clients to verify project details and clarify specifications.
