About The Position

tk accelis Materials Plus is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Metal Plate Saw Operator to join our night shift team at the Concord Plant. In this role, you will accurately process metal products to customer specifications using advanced material handling and processing equipment. The successful candidate will ensure quality standards are met, maintain a safe work environment, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 to 2 years of machine operation experience.
  • Certification in a Material Handler position or ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Experience using hand-held measuring instruments.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse experience, particularly in the metals industry.
  • Previous forklift operating experience.
  • Computer literacy and basic data entry skills.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process material according to customer work orders and specifications.
  • Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing.
  • Properly set up and safely operate saws and other processing equipment according to setup instructions.
  • Verify product dimensions and specifications using approved measuring tools and documented sampling plans.
  • Record inspection measurements and maintain accurate production data.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, weighing scales, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment checks.
  • Communicate with sales representatives regarding order clarifications or required changes.
  • Assist with packaging material according to work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Identify, record, and segregate scrap or non-conforming material.
  • Complete production, quality, and productivity logs accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding machine performance, process improvements, and product quality.
  • Support lean manufacturing and quality initiatives.
  • Train team members when required.
  • Assist other departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Carry out all responsibilities in a manner that promotes a safe workplace for yourself and others.
