Tessera is seeking a Motivated and Hardworking Metal Mechanic EVT (in training) with a Positive/Professional attitude. This role involves performing inspections of damaged vehicle bodies, panels, frames, and structural components to determine repair requirements, identify material needs, and establish corrective repair actions. The mechanic will fabricate panels, brackets, supports, patch panels, structural components, and other metal parts utilizing various equipment. They will perform MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-fuel welding operations on different materials, and repair/straighten damaged frames and body structures. Surface preparation, application of primers and coatings, and identification/repair of corrosion damage are also key responsibilities. The role supports fleet readiness objectives by ensuring body repairs, structural repairs, fabrication projects, and refinishing work are completed accurately, safely, and within established production timelines. The mechanic will operate various fabrication tools, assist with on-the-job training, and maintain accurate maintenance records. Coordination with supervisors, customers, and vendors, and ensuring accountability for tools and property are also part of the duties. The position requires preparing vehicles for inspections and promoting a safe work environment. Final inspections of completed work are necessary to verify quality and compliance. The role may also involve leading emergency maintenance activities, performing road tests, and maintaining a professional appearance. Monitoring parts availability and coordinating with supply personnel are also required. All Other Duties as Assigned.
