About The Position

The Metal Finisher is responsible for examining and feeling metal surfaces to detect defects such as dents, scratches, or breaks. This role involves removing dents, weld welts, and filling uneven surfaces with weld. The Metal Finisher will also prepare metal surfaces for painting, smooth surfaces to a specified finish, and polish metal surfaces. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one year related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Ability to train and work with others (Team Concept).
• Ability to do basic math
• Be able to lift and move 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

• Examine and feel surfaces of metal to detect defects such as dents, scratches, or breaks in metal
• Remove dents, weld welts, and fill even surfaces with weld
• Prepares metal surfaces for painting
• Smooth surface of item to specified finish
• Polishes metal surface
• Other duties as assigned
