Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Safe work practices, general knowledge of mechanical operations.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • 6-12 months.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety requirements.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of weld terminology
  • New Hire Orientation, OSHA Required Training, Product and Process Overview, Understanding the Charter, Lean Manufacturing Overview, 5S & Visual Management, Business Management System, KAMTEK Label Standards, Tip Change Procedure, Robot Fundamentals, and Basic Workstation Panel views. Scanner training.
  • Performance Assessment conducted by Team/Area/Dept. Leader
  • Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds and being able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Some of the equipment and tools used are basic departmental hand tools and personal protective equipment. Also may include computer and scanning.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently to perform duties with little supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with team members on all shifts and possess good mathematical and organizational skills.
  • The ability to identify MORE severe defects such as High spots/lows/deep slivers.
  • The ability to use various hand tools such as body filescheese grater}/flat files/bow files/grinder/da sander
  • The ability to effectively use high lite oil to verify all rework/surface condition
  • The ability to determine when a defect is repairable of scrap.
  • The Assembly Metal Finisher will adhere to all company and customer quality systems to create a product that meets customer expectations.
