About The Position

Process metal components to specifications, which may include cleaning, deburring, polishing, strengthening, and finishing to size. This role involves operating various metal processing and finishing equipment and maintaining accurate processing reports. The incumbent will also be responsible for transporting materials and performing routine decisions based on specific criteria to meet manufacturing standards. Work must be performed in accordance with a wide range of safety procedures, and heavy physical exertion is required. The incumbent will maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.

Requirements

• Receive instructions from Supervisors and follow routing tickets.
• Implement manufacturing specifications.
• Use semi-complicated gauging equipment and computer-operated interface panels with graphic displays.
• Complete SPC requirements.
• Perform mathematical computations involving decimals.
• Make routine decisions based on specific criteria to meet manufacturing standards.
• Explain and/or interpret information in interpersonal relations.
• Perform work in accordance with a wide range of safety procedures.
• Ability to handle heavy physical exertion.
• Adherence to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices, and training as outlined in the BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual.
• Use of required equipment, protective devices, or clothing.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, set-up, operate, and monitor various metal processing and finishing equipment (e.g., lorcos, washers, Jensen Dryers, shot peens, harperizers, swecos, molycote tumbler, Saturn 2900).
• Maintain accurate processing reports.
• Transport material to and from designated areas using appropriate equipment (e.g., fork trucks, hand trucks, hand carts, elect hoists).
• Disassemble/reassemble specific parts on equipment.
• Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices, and training.
• Work in a manner that stresses the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses.
• Take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers.
• Report all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
