About The Position

For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States. NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the National Agricultural Statistics Service through the Experienced Worker Program (EWP). Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an "at-will" relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee. PLEASE NOTE: An "Enrollee" is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An "Enrollee" is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions. Requirements

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in data editing workflows, rule capture, and requirements traceability matrices (RTM).
Exposure to survey data processing and validation.
Metadata management skills
Data analysis & review skills
Understanding of agricultural statistics
Data governance & standards
Technical tool proficiency
Analytical reasoning
Process documentation & technical writing
Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Responsibilities

Maintain and update metadata structures, item relationships, hierarchical classifications, and domain definitions used across NASS statistical programs.
Develop and refine metadata documentation, including item groupings, category definitions, ratio structures, cross-table relationships, and structured analysis guides.
Support MRS data review activities by conducting anomaly detection, cross-table consistency checks, aggregate-level evaluations, and structured comparison workflows.
Collaborate with statisticians, branch/program staff, and IT personnel to ensure metadata resources align with program needs, agency standards, and evolving methodologies.
Provide training, reference materials, and technical guidance to analysts and staff on the use of metadata resources, review tools, and structured evaluation processes.
Build and maintain metadata tools, reference tables, and review aids that improve analyst workflows and support consistent evaluation of Census and survey outputs.
